  1. Thanks for commenting on my BBT answer/post. I really liked your approach. It's interesting to see where you went with the question and I really liked this part of your answer : "In the end, every one who enjoys all or some of these mediums has it in their power to magnify themselves, to multiply the ways in which they exist to make their life full, significant and interesting..."

  2. Wow I really like the way you thought this out, especially the part about creative control. Definitely a cool way to think about it.

  3. Great post! I love what you are saying about reading building social meaning. What a wonderful insight. I think that's very true. When people read the same material it gives them a context in which they can discuss some wonderful and complex things in a way that everyone can understand.

Yes I admit I see questions like this and try and think of the diffrent angle to take. Its why I like the 50 word random story challenges.

  8. A very thoughtful post and I agree with you: when you examine something from different sides, you see the assumptions that you might not have been aware of before.

  11. "I suspect that disputes about what is reading often mask social snobbery…"

I could not agree with you more.

  12. That's an interesting way to look at that question. I guess I'd go with the first scale because I feel reading is all about the reader interpreting the book in his own way which I believe is exactly what you meant by the creative act between reader and writer.
