  1. Your post was funny. So that means no you don't meet people you've met online I take it. LOL!

  2. Nothing wrong with that! My fiance is English, so I am very familiar with this British sense of modesty. I also prefer a small circle of friends. I'm always open to meeting more, though.

  3. I completely understand what you mean about being peopled out from the work day. I do community relations for a national bookseller and spend my days planning events and making people happy. In my personal time, I'd prefer to curl in my my pajamas with my husband and dog and avoid socializing if at all possible.

  4. Hmmm...I can't imagine too many things I wouldn't do before going shopping naked. I would not mind meeting a few Library Thingers if it was nearby, but I don't think I'd enjoy a huge convention-like atmosphere.

waves @ rjsbooklady Exactly! My Wife when not working was always wanting me to be social. When she had a months job being a PR rep my requests to go partying were met with you have a sadist streak smile...

  9. I've worked in retail customer service for more years than I care to remember, so there are a lot of things I'd do before I'd go shopping clothed or not. My work days are so filled with people (too many of whom should not have been allowed out of their domiciles) that it's lovely to come home to solitude or the very welcome presence of my Lancashire husband. Quality over quantity? ALWAYS!

  11. Hey John, I'm joining your Wife and Son laughing on the floor. You should add dead-pan comic delivery to your list of talents. It's a pleasure to meet you over the 'net and over the Pond!

  14. That's one of my favorite Grouchos, too. And I sort of feel the same way about the book swap meets - although I probably wouldn't have chosen naked shopping as my alternative!

  15. "Part of it is that I enjoy my own company so don't feel the need to be social."

This I can completely understand! I really live mostly in my own head, and the people I do talk to are such old, close friends that sometimes I feel like I don't really speak the language of the rest of humanity.

PS--Today you made my 100th comment!
